Hope you guys enjoyed the last spotlights but this train keeps on moving with a hidden gem from 2016. For anyone who knows me, I am a big fan of platformers and this is one you won’t want to miss. A mix of platforming, puzzles, challenging bosses, and some cute humor is all bundled up into this amazing package known as Wuppo. Created by Knuist & Perzik, this game has been one that I always look back at with fond memories. You start out as a strange puffball, who is sort of a jerk, and gets kicked out of his house and starts a long journey to find a new home. Rather a basic premise but along the way there are many exciting elements and worlds to explore.

Gameplay wise, it starts off very simple. Jump around and get through an area as a normal platformer. However, as you get your main weapon, a gun that shoots paint, you start experiencing a bit more complexity. The game then abruptly shifts into a challenging feat of boss runs mixed with exploration and puzzles. The bosses can be quite tough at times, especially if you are playing on the harder difficulty mode but they all feel fun and unique. Wuppo’s world is one not like ours, so all of the bosses are made up of a plethora of creatures that all have various patterns and different fighting styles. From fighting a traffic light with hands to a giant ice cream sundae oven creature (yeah, you read that right!), Wuppo offers an interesting experience that will keep you on your toes.

With a normal story mode as well as a frustratingly difficult boss run mode, this game has a good amount of content that is worth the price (in my opinion of course). For anyone who is a fan of platformers or exploring an unusual world in a cute 2-D art style, this game is something you won’t want to miss. You can pick up Wuppo over on Steam for PC or get it on Consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) from their respective online stores.
